220 Hurontario Street

Two-storey, single-bay, buff-brick building with recessed pointing; and period, aluminum-framed, shop-front and Vitrolite sign, and unornamented second floor masonry (c. 1950s).

Description – Ground floor is entirely and vigorously ‘modern’, with corrugated aluminum stall-riser and heavy, unpainted, aluminum framing throughout, especially at entry. Very deep fascia has large lettering on Vitrolite – which is probably original to building. Central, three-light window has wooden sashes behind metal storms, with painted concrete sill below and soldier bricks on shelf-angle lintel above. Building ends with painted metal flashing on wooden fascia at wall-head.
