313 Hurontario Street

Asymmetrical, one-storey, red-brick, commercial (formerly industrial) building (c. 1915).

Description – Small and simple brick building seems anomalous. Façade is divided into two bays by plain pilasters, within which are broad and diverse openings. LH bay contains pair of aluminum-framed doors with tiny transom window above, and with single sash to left, all below a flat, rendered lintel. RH bay and adjacent piers are rendered in lower areas. Higher aperture here contains crude, wood-framed windows comprising two large lower sashes under three-pane transom window, with flat, concrete lintel above. At wall-head, plywood fascia and wooden cornice recent extensions from adjacent building to north, and there is no parapet. At south elevation, metal-framed windows visible at south-elevation are a testimony to former industrial purpose of building and provide an interesting element in Main Street.
