41 & 43 Hurontario Street Two-storey, four bay, red brick building with Italianate elements; radically altered (c.1890). Ground Floor Extensively reworked, with miscellaneous openings below continuous aluminum fascia, with continuous brick soldier course above. Modest signage allows extent of re-bricking above to be revealed in all its blankness. Second Floor Divided into four bays by simple, red brick pilasters. Windows are inoperable, single pane units in aluminum frames, with thin, (recent) stone sills below and projecting, segmental-arch voussoirs and mannerist brick keystones above. Parapet Simple brick piers are built above pilasters and off keystones, with decorative brick panels, simulating balustrade, spanning between. Capped with jointed, terra cotta tiles. |
