60 Pine Street

Symmetrical, three-bay, two-storey, (painted) polychrome, brick house with hipped roof and lateral chimneys, and with diminished front door aperture (c. 1870).

Description - Narrow, central, ground floor window is a replacement, as witnessed by extent of flat-arched brick lintel above. This suggests original front door with sidelights, and possibly transom windows. Faint patterns at corners indicate quoins, presumably in two colours; and indeed, buff-brick is apparent where paint is peeling at quoins and at arches, whereas elsewhere brick is red. South chimney retains original, dog-toothed course and multiple corbelling, whereas upper portions of north chimney are rebuilt. Windows are 2/2 wooden throughout (all behind metal storms), including later, central ground floor window. A remnant of an old iron fence exists at north-east corner of house.
