Purpose of the Study & Plan

The purpose of this Study and Plan is to provide the supporting data necessary to effect the designation of a Heritage Conservation District in the commercial core of Collingwood, and to establish policies and guidelines for the preservation and enhancement of the heritage resources and character in the District, pursuant to Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, RSO 1980, Chapter O.18. The intent of this Study and Plan is to provide clear and readily understood guidance to the Town of Collingwood and its citizens for the conservation of important historical, architectural and landscape elements in the District, and for the design of new development and redevelopment that preserves and enhances the District's heritage character.
