This section, the Urban Heritage Character, examines the experience of the public space of the streets as a whole, on a block-by-block basis. The descriptions start with the spine of Hurontario Street, and move outward to the north-south streets, first to the west and then to the east. The east-west streets are described in order from the waterfront southward. For north-south streets, the blocks are designated 1,2,3..., beginning at Huron/First Street and running southward. For east-west streets, the blocks are designated A, B, C...
